Abbott in North Texas for The Gatehouse grand opening
Gov. Greg Abbott was in North Texas Thursday for the grand opening of a supportive living community in Grapevine.
Abbott joined Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Grapevine Mayor William Tate to cut the ribbon at The Gatehouse.
The 61-acre community is for women and their children leaving a crisis situation.
They are provided with resources including transportation, food, clothing, education, employment guidance, medical care and counseling to help them recover after abuse, poverty or prison.
The Gatehouse will accept its first families next month.
