A twelfth person has died as a result of the severe weather in North Texas on December 26th.  Leo Mota died Friday night.  He had been hospitalized at Plano Medical Center.  He was injured in the EF-4 tornado hit Garland. He was riding in a vehicle with another victim who died, 19-year old Jose Juarez.  Mota's parents traveled from Mexico to spend time with their son in the hospital. They kept vigil by his side and prayed for his recovery although his condition never improved.  He was removed from life support Friday night. He was a husband and father to four small children. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with funeral arrangements

Of the 11 people who died during the severe weather on that day, five were driving along I-30 near the turnpike in Garland. The cleanup is expected to take until the end of February or longer.
