Pleasant Grove home destroyed in explosion

Two people managed to escape from a house in southeastern Dallas before it exploded on Monday night.

The house was near Lake June Road and St. Augustine Drive in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood. It has reportedly been deemed a total loss.

A 76-year-old woman was inside the home with her 35-year-old grandson prior to the explosion. They were in different parts of the home, but managed to get out OK.

They have been taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution, and they had reportedly smelled gas earlier in the day.

Neighbors said they heard loud shakes and booms from the explosion.
