Man accused of Dallas rapes apologizes from behind bars

- A man Dallas police accused of two sexual assaults is accepting responsibility and apologizing.

Samuel Jamall White agreed to speak to FOX 4’s Shaun Rabb from behind bars Monday morning. He said he wanted to apologize to the two women he’s charged with sexually assaulting and to his family.

White said he couldn’t talk about the facts of the case against him, but acknowledged he was the person in surveillance video both using credit cards 30 minutes after one rape and on the stairs after a rape at DART’s Walnut Hill Station.

“I’m very sorry. I’m very apologetic and if I can take it back I wouldn’t do that. I’d go a different route. I’m very sorry and me, I affected a lot of people and I was not trying to do that.  A lot of families, their family, my friends, my son… I’m away from son. That’s hurting me right now. If I could take it back I’d take everything back. I’m very sorry,” he said.

White said there are no other sexual assault cases that will be linked to him by DNA. He said he has committed no others.

He also said someone else asked him to take items from a December burglary to a pawn shop. He claims he didn’t commit the burglary, but agreed to pawn the items because he had an ID and the other person didn’t.

White said he has an alcohol problem. He admitted to drinking heavily and said he hid that from his family. He wants others to get the help he said he needs now. People should live life to the fullest and pursue their dreams, he said.
