Family forgives man charged with killing 2-year-old in car crash

A Dallas family is mourning the loss of their two-year-old son, killed in a car crash, and forgiving the driver who police say is responsible. A man with a criminal record.

The crash happened Friday night in Oak Cliff. Police have arrested and charged 28-year-old Joshua Allen with criminally negligent homicide.

Two-year-old Noah Vasquez was riding in a car with his mother when, police say, Allen ran a stop sign in his pickup and collided with them. Police say the boy was not wearing a seat belt. He later died at a hospital.
"It's God's will, said Sierra Ayala, Noah's aunt, refusing to blame Allen. "God knew it was going to happen either way, no matter what" Ayala said. "I don't believe it's his fault. God just picked him to be the one to take Noah's life."

Court records indicate Allen's criminal record includes a 2006 DWI conviction. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover funeral costs.
