A church in the West Oak Cliff area of Dallas was destroyed by a fire Wednesday morning, but its congregation says they will continue to worship.
Members of Iglesia De Cristo Camino De Santidad placed an American flag in the charred rubble of their former meeting place. They say it's a symbol of hope.
The congregation has moved services to the church's fellowship hall, adjacent to the destroyed sanctuary.
The building doesn't have power, but members used extension cords and flash lights to hold a service Friday night.
It was a mixture of emotions as the devastation of what happened set in. Pastor Miguel Zuga told the congregation it's okay to cry today, but to get it all out because tomorrow is about rebuilding for the future, "We have a big God so we trust in God that God will give us everything to make this church strong again."
No one was injured during the fire and emergency crews were able to keep the flames from spreading to nearby classrooms.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but members believe old electrical wiring is responsible.
Information on how to help can be found on the church's Facebook page.
