Dallas police have made an arrest in the brutal beating and robbery of a school teacher earlier this month.
Detectives say 17-year-old Ira Booker has confessed to being one of two men who robbed and beat Sarah Hoff in the garage of her Downtown Dallas apartment building, and then made off with her car.
Police say an unidentified man at the West End DART station flagged down police Saturday afternoon, and pointed to Booker, claiming he was one of the robbers. A short chase that involved officers on horseback led to Booker's capture. "You'll find that that they commit their crimes close to where they live or hang out so it's not surprising that he was captured there," said Major Max Geron.
Fox 4 News caught up with Sarah Goff at a concealed handgun license course in Addison.
"The thing in my mind is this boy is lost," said Goff. "He's 17. He needs to know that he has a purpose for his life and that Jesus loves him."
Police have released a photograph of the second suspect, taken at a fast food restaurant where he used Hoff's credit card to buy food while driving her stolen car. They are still searching for him.
