State revokes Prime Prep Academy's charter

The State of Texas has revoked the charter for Prime Prep Academy, the school co-founded by NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.

Now, it's up to the state-appointed board of managers to determine when to close the doors at the two campuses.

An attorney for Uplift Fort Worth, Prime Prep's parent company, showed up for Tuesday's appeal hearing in Austin, but he was only there to formally withdrawal from the case because he had not been paid.

No one else was there on behalf of Uplift, so the judge granted default judgment against Prime Prep.

The state will get the judge to sign a formal letter of revocation sometime later this week, making it official.

The state-appointed board of managers will meet Friday in Fort Worth to vote on a date to close both Prime Prep campuses.
