N. TX Boy Scout troop's trailer full of camping gear stolen

A Boy Scout trailer with the troop's camping gear was recently stolen from the church where it was parked in North Richland Hills.

The trailer was stolen from the parking lot of Legacy Church of Christ, where it was chained to a light pole.

The trailer, worth around $3,000, was filled with camping supplies –- supplies that the scouts of Troop 179 were planning to use at their campout in less than two weeks.

The wife of Scoutmaster Charles Barkley made the discovery while leaving church Sunday morning, and troop leaders broke the news to the scouts Monday night.

The boys say that what was in that trailer may not have had a lot of monetary value, but it meant a lot to them.

A replacement fund for the trailer has been set up at http://www.youcaring.com/nonprofits/troop-179-scout-trailer-replacement/286920
