Officials said the two vehicles were involved in a wreck about 6:30 a.m. at I-20 westbound near Bowman Springs Road. The semi involved was hauling a propane tank.
The fire continues to burn, and fire officials said Friday night that it will continue to do so into Saturday morning. Traffic was shut down on both westbound and eastbound lanes.
Firefighters used a foam spray to contain the fire burning from the propane tank, but later flames continued to flare as firefighters ran out of the foam and had to get more supplies.
Firefighters eventually pulled back and have decided to let the fire burn itself out.
Officials with the Arlington Fire Department said the propane truck was full with 3,000 gallons of propane when it crashed.
Fire officials also evacuated some residents located by the fire on the north and south sides on I-20.
The fact that there is a drilling site across from the fire has caused some concern, so drilling there has stopped.
There were no reported injuries from the wreck.
