North Texas-based American Airlines is donating disaster relief money to the local chapter of the American Red Cross and encouraging others to do the same.
The airline, headquartered in Fort Worth, has pledged $100,000 to the Red Cross after deadly tornadoes ripped through the region on Saturday evening.
“The tornadoes that hit North Texas during the holiday weekend caused significant damage and impacted thousands of lives,” said Joe Taney, an American vice president in a statement.
American is also offering AAdvantage miles to those who donate through the American Airlines website. People can earn 250 AAdvantage miles for a $50 donation and 500 miles for a $100 donation.
