Power outages and flight delays caused by weekend storms

Thousands of people in North Texas lost power in the weekend storms that spawned tornadoes.

As of 11:00 a.m. Sunday, Oncor reported that 14,450 of their customers didn’t have power. Earlier in the morning, as many as 47,000 Oncor customers didn’t have power.

Oncor reminds residents to stay alert as they begin to assess the damage from the storm. If you see a downed power line, stay away & call 911 immediately.

Some flights departing from DFW International Airport are also delayed Sunday morning.  As of 10:50 a.m. departing flights were delayed an average of 40 minutes due to weather. You’re encouraged to check with your airline before heading to the airport.

As of 10:50 a.m., Dallas Love Field reported arrival delays of about 35 minutes. Passengers are also encouraged to check with their airlines for exact updates.
