Dallas Animal Services seized nearly 70 animals on Wednesday who were discovered in deplorable conditions

Melinda Vinzant, 63, was arrested for animal cruelty.

The city said 60 dogs, many deceased, were seized from the home in Oak Cliff. Eight horses were also found covered in mud.

Police were working Wednesday to determine the full extent of the charges.

“The house is very cluttered, there's a lot of dust and debris in places so it's just very cluttered with a lot of materials,” a Dallas official said.

Dallas Animal Services has begun the process of vaccinating the animals and assessing their health.
