A service tech at a Fort Worth dealership stumbled upon $50,000 in a luxury trade-in car -- and did the right thing.
Juan Ibarra was working at Park Place Motorcars about one week ago when he reached into the trunk of a Mercedes-Benz SL 550 and found a bag with stacks of 100 dollar bills inside.
He suspected the cash might be “dirty money” and immediately took it to his boss.
“I saw the money, closed the trunk. I went to the service manager and said ‘Hey I found some money.’ He’s like how much money? Five, 10 dollars? And I was like ‘No, I found some money.’”
It turns out the cash belonged to a bail bondsman who had taken the money as payment from a client.
After his money was returned, the very relieved bondsman sent Ibarra a thank you card and some cash.
