Court papers allege D.A Hawk used illegal drugs

New documents filed Monday allege Dallas' embattled district attorney used illegal drugs for recreational purposes.

Attorneys are seeking to have District Attorney Susan Hawk temporarily removed from office until a jury trial can decide whether she stays or goes.

The highly-charged allegations come in response to Hawk's attorneys' actions. They filed a motion asking a judge to deny the request to temporarily remove Hawk from office.

They also argue in court papers that Hawk is protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act because of her public battle with depression.

Hawk secretly left her post in July. She sought treatment for depression at a Houston clinic for nine weeks.

Hawk says she is "stronger and better than ever" and "ready to serve the people of Dallas County."
