Bernie Sanders returns to Grand Prairie to rally Democrats against Trump

U.S. Senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was in North Texas on Thursday to fire up local Democrats.

Sanders and Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison spoke at the Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie. They talked about raising the minimum wage, equal pay for women and re-building America's infrastructure.

Sanders said that the key to getting a handle on issues that matter to is getting more people involved in politics.

"When we involve millions of people in the political process who previously were not involved, I have not the slightest doubt that we will create an economy and a government that works for all of us and not just the one percent,” Sanders said.

The two politicians are traveling to several cities for what they call the "Come Together and Fight Back" tour.

Sanders made a campaign appearance at the same venue in 2016 when he was running against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination.
