Documentary premieres about N. TX teens allegedly slain by father

It's been seven years since Amina and Sarah Said were found murdered in a taxicab in Irving.

The prime suspect, their father, Yaser, is still on the run. His motive is believed to be honor killing.

A documentary about the girls and the investigation premiered in Lewisville on Wednesday night, and it will begin a national tour.

Those were the last words spoken by either Amina or Sarah. They were shot to death on New Year's Day in 2008.

"You always think nothing like that is going to happen to someone you know, and all of a sudden it happens and you get the phone call that they've been shot by their father," said Pierce.

The documentary, The Price of Honor, tells the girls' stories from the happy moments of their childhood to the physical and sexual abuse they endured at the hands of their father.

Egyptian-born Yaser was angry his daughters started dating non-Muslim boys.

Ruth Trotter's son was one of those boys, and she broke the news of Amina's death.

"It does take me back," said Trotter. "My son's pain and our pain when we lost her, and trying to find the words to tell him the love of his life had been murdered."

About 100 friends, Lewisville High School classmates and Kroger coworkers attended the special screening.

Many don't want Amina and Sarah to be just a memory; they want Yaser caught and to inform others about honor violence.

"I had no clue what this was," said Trotter. "I had no way of knowing how to help her, and regrettably, it was after their murders, and I don't want that to happen to someone else in that same situation."

Sadly, there haven't been any breaks in the case.

Yaser is on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list with a $100,000 reward offered for information leading to his arrest.

Investigators went to New York where Said has family to see if he'd joined the cab community there.

The producers of the film started the hashtag #CatchYaser in hopes of using social media to find and arrest him.
