Former Aledo ISD supt. among 2 killed in I-20 wreck

A former Aledo ISD superintendent has been identified as one of the two victims in a deadly, multi-vehicle Parker County crash on Wednesday afternoon.

Former superintendent Don Daniel his 14-year-old passenger, Hunter Corzine, were killed when the Nissan pickup truck they were in veered into oncoming traffic on I-20 near Aledo.

The truck crossed out of the westbound lanes across the shoulder, over the cable barrier and into the eastbound lanes of I-20.

The truck hit a Chevy Suburban, then a semi-trailer, both head-on.

Two other drivers were injured and taken to area hospitals -- the driver of the Suburban and the driver of a Buick, who rear-ended the Suburban.

A 4-year-old passenger in the Buick and the semi-driver were not hurt.

Both east and westbound lanes were closed at one point, with westbound lanes re-opening first. There were still delays into rush hour with lane closures on eastbound I-20.

Investigators have not determined why the pickup lost control.
