Thieves steal wallets out of Arlington hospital locker rooms

- Arlington police are looking for two thieves who wandered around Arlington Memorial Hospital and stole wallets out of employee locker rooms.

The two women, or suspects dressed as women, cut locks to get the hospital employee’s personal items. Police said they also may have also struck hospitals in Plano and Dallas.

Two women shown in video from a Target store using stolen credit cards and three men who were with them are all wanted in connection with a string of hospital thefts across North Texas.

Police say the suspects at Arlington Memorial used bolt cutters to remove a lock and get inside an area where employees keep their belongings.

“There's been one in Dallas, one in Fort Worth. There's one here in Arlington, one in McKinney. We all believe these are the same individuals responsible for it,” said hospital spokesman Steve Bartolotta. “They're breaking locks and breaking into employee locker rooms. They're stealing wallets and stealing merchandise."

Arlington's hospital theft happened Feb. 3 just before police say the group showed up at a nearby Target store at I-30 and East Chase. Cameras captured a glimpse of the suspects browsing and then separately at checkouts buying electronics and gift cards.

Plano police say two women matching the description struck at Baylor Hospital there Feb. 13 and stole a doctor's wallet from her office.

"We hope everyone is able to take a look at this video, the images as well,” Bartolotta said. “And if you recognize them, definitely contact the police. But just be on the lookout for people who are in hospitals as well. Just make sure you keep areas locked. And if you see anything suspicious, definitely let authorities know.”

Anyone who recognizes the thieves is encouraged to call Arlington PD Detective Doyle at 817-459-6489.
