Woman behind viral dance video attends Jingle Ball concert as special guest

Natalie Solis reports.

- The Garland woman behind a viral dance video during chemotherapy was recognized for her can-do spirit and positive attitude after being invited as a special guest to a celebrity-filled concert.

Ana Alecia is a mom battling a rare uterine cancer patient who has found hundreds of thousands of followers online thanks to her videos showing her dancing while undergoing chemo. Her dance moves to ‘Juju on that Beat’ got her millions of views around the world. On Tuesday night at the KISS FM Jingle Ball Concert, she was able to meet some of the performers who inspired her dance moves.

“I know attitude is everything,” Ayala said. “My dad had cancer and so seeing his battle and seeing his strength and courage throughout his battle gave me that kick in my butt to get me going.”

Ayala went to the concert with her husband, mom and 3-year-old daughter and also met up with her friend Danielle Andrus, who appeared in two of Ayala’s videos.

Ayala' first brush with celebrities was with the Backstreet Boys, who taught her and Danielle some of their signature moves.

What people might not realize is that the Juju on that Beat video was not the first video made. The first one Ayala made was to Meghan Trainor’s ‘Me Too’ but initially didn't post it on social media. Trainor has been an inspiration to Ayala, making the meeting with the superstar extra special.

“She’s so sweet, and she’s so nice. She recognized me right away!” Ayala said about her run-in with Trainor. “She said, ‘I’ve been waiting to meet y’all!’”

Ayala says she plans to make several more dance videos, the next one possibly a Christmas-themed mashup.
