Wife of middle school teacher murder suspect arrested

- The wife of a middle school teacher accused of murdering two men is now under arrested and accused of tampering with evidence.

Fort Worth police announced the arrest of Tiffany Heath on Thursday. She’s accused of tampering with evidence in connection to her husband’s arrest, Cary Joseph Heath.

Heath was arrested Monday at Permenter Middle School in Cedar Hill where he was an eight-grade science teacher. He’s charged with capital murder for the deaths of Daniel Haros and Phillip Evans.

Fort Worth police say the 35-year-old air force vet shot the two men multiple times with an assault rifle after a party on Buffalo Springs Drive Saturday night.

After the shootings, Cary ran back to his own house to hold his baby. He handed the child back to Tiffany and told her, “This is the last time I’ll see the baby. I killed two people,” the affidavit states.

Tiffany is accused of tampering with evidence. Cary’s arrest affidavit says he asked her to clean up blood evidence and to hide the rifle used in the shootings.

Friends and family held a fundraiser Thursday for the victims at Dalton’s Corner, one of their favorite bars in Burleson.

“Those were the people that always brought everybody up. They always had a smile on their face. They didn't deserve that. They didn't deserve that at all,” said Kat Norvello, a friend of the victims. “We're really, really glad his wife was arrested too. We're glad she's being charged, and some kind of justice is being done because we still don't even know why.”

Tiffany started a GoFundMe after her husband's arrest, citing financial struggles raising her kids after her husband's arrest.

Before the GoFundMe was deleted, she wrote, "I am a mother of 3. My family and I have recently suffered from a very unfortunate event, which has left us in a time of need...Every little bit is extremely appreciated."

Tiffany is being held on a $5,000 bond while Cary is being held on a $1 million dollar bond.
