Keller vigil held for college student missing in Alpine

School friends of Zuzu Verk prayed using candles and music Monday night that the young woman is found soon.

The 22-year-old Keller native disappeared on Oct. 12. Her family says she went on a date and has not been seen since. She goes to Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.

Hannah Lewis is one of Zuzu’s friends and said the vigil was a chance to show support for the family.

"They're away in Alpine so that's really what I hope -- prayer and love, support and good energy,” Lewis said.

Volunteers and investigators, on horseback and in helicopters, have already searched roughly 400 square miles. Deputies are utilizing a drone to assist in the search efforts in the areas within Brewster and Presidio counties.

Key answers could come from the man she's been dating for the past six months, Robert Fabian. Police and the Sheriff have named him as a person of interest and searched his apartment. But they said so far, he is not cooperating with them.

"He needs to come forward and say something and at least explain himself,” said friend McKenzie De Los Santos.

Then there's the vehicles -- a Jeep and a Miata. Friends say the Miata is Zuzu's car. There's an also an F-150 and now a white ford Mustang. The pickup, FOX4 has learned through online searches, is connected to Verk's boyfriend's family.

Detectives want to know where those vehicles were between midnight and 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12.
