DALLAS, Texas - Dallas police confirm an officer was injured but is expected to be ok after an officer-involved shooting in East Oak Cliff.
The shootout happened in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue around 7 p.m. Friday night.
Dallas police say a detective checking out a property crime in the area stumbled upon a shooting in progress. The officer then confronted the shooting suspect and exchanged gunfire before ultimately stopping him.
Three men were transported to local hospitals in unknown conditions, police say.
Sources tell FOX 4 the detective was somehow injured in his foot and rushed to the hospital. Police confirm the officer was injured but is expected to be ok.
Police are still investigating what lead up to the initial shooting.
