Police say a man walking by fatally shot Jones in the driveway just after 2 A.M. Friends and neighbors were shocked by the news of Jones’ death.

“I had just talked to him yesterday about one or two o'clock that afternoon,” said neighbor, Marcus Johnson. “He was a good kid, just running around with his friends, just hanging out, doing what normal teenagers do.”

Friends tell Fox 4 the teen mowed lawns in the neighborhood and had just enrolled in school.

"I want him to be remembered as a good man, somebody who's not scared or afraid to do anything,” said Thornton.

Police have interviewed the friend who was standing with Jones when he was shot. They have not released a description of the shooter.
