Several high water rescues due to high water in North Texas

Heavy rain caused flooding in north Texas late Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Roads and even homes became flooded in Johnson County. Several roads were closed at various points throughout the night and morning because of high water. Johnson County Emergency Management officials said they had to make 13 water rescues across the county before 8:00 a.m.

Fox 4 viewers reported significant storm damage in Denison. Several trees were uprooted and telephone poles were knocked over. Debris is scattered throughout several neighborhoods.

Fox 4 viewers also reported significant property damage in Parker County in the area of Highway 51 and Oakridge, close to Springtown.

Flooded roads and water rescues also took place in Dallas. One took place along Lemmon Avenue at the Dart station near Dallas Love Field. The area around the Dart green line in Deep Ellum was also flooded.

At the height of the storm, more than 20,000 homes and businesses across the metroplex were without power.
