An Oklahoma City high school is under fire from PETA over a video of students dancing with dead cats.

PETA published the video Tuesday on YouTube. It shows eight students in lab coats dancing with the cats' corpses as the Meow Mix jingle plays in the background.

An additional person is seen kneeling below a table in front of the students and appears to be directing dance moves with a dead cat he's holding.

The video was reportedly filmed before the cats were dissected as part of a biology class at Harding Charter Preparatory High School.

On the description of the video, PETA calls on the school to investigate the video and to replace classroom animal dissection with interactive software programs.

The school's principal, Justin Hunt, told KOKH FOX 25 in Oklahoma City that the video was uploaded to Facebook last year and that the students in it have already graduated.

Hunt also said that the school might consider looking into digital alternatives to animal dissection, but that they're expensive and that's why science classes probably don't use them.

A PETA spokesperson told FOX 25 that PETA has offered software and other supplies to the school for free but the school hasn't yet responded.
