The Richardson Fire Marshal is investigating after two homes were targeted early Tuesday morning in less than an hour. It's believed the attacks were random.
June Roberts, 80, and her family were asleep inside their north Richardson home when they woke up to sirens and fire crews around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Someone stuffed a rag into the gas tank of her 2000 Buick Century and set it on fire.
Investigators say it's now a total loss.
"Where's your heart?" said Roberts. "How can you do something to people where you could blow up the whole neighborhood?"
The suspect waited for firefighters to leave, then struck again two houses away. This time, Karina Del Rio's 2005 Chevy Colorado truck was set on fire, damaging its fuel line and making it no longer drivable.
"I can't even sleep now, because if they're capable of doing that to my car, what else are they going to set on fire?" said Del Rio.
The Richardson Fire Marshal's Office calls the fires "suspicious."
Investigators are looking for similar cases in surrounding cities.
