DALLAS - Hundreds of people came together Sunday night to remember three Dallas Baptist University students killed in a weekend crash.
The service brought students, staff and faculty back to campus to celebrate the lives of Justin Schubert, Will Smith and DJ Sarenac. They died early Saturday morning when their truck slammed into a utility pole not far from the school.
“We know that we are going to see them again one day. And right now they, not in pain or suffering, are in heaven with God and they are living peacefully,” said Cameron Walton, Smith’s friend.
Friends of Schubert said he used to joke about people wearing Hawaiian shorts to his funeral. So, some of them did for the memorial service.
Police blame the accident on the truck’s speed.
