The North Texas star featured on American Idol’s final season, Dalton Rapattoni, was voted off the show, just shy of making it to the finale.
His students and fans at the School of Rock in Rockwall say they will continue to support the rising star. Dalton attended the school of Rock in Frisco but was a teacher at the Rockwall School of Rock and in Dallas.
Dalton will not go on to the final performance, but fans believe the North Texas native will still be a huge success.
"Dalton's got a huge career ahead of him and regardless of whether he is the American Idol, he's an Idol,” said fan Nana Gregg. “He's an Idol to all these kids inside, and he's an Idol to all the people that were voting for him.”
"It is disappointing because we obviously want him to win but he's far enough,” said Dalton’s former student, Bailey Hutchinson. “He's already getting somewhere, and I think we're just happy for him.”
The American Idol two-hour finale will begin Thursday at 7 p.m. on FOX 4.
