Grand Prairie girl's death ruled a homicide

- Police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl from Grand Prairie.

Leilana Wright died on March 13 after being rushed to Medical Center Arlington. The Tarrant County medical examiner found blunt force trauma and called the little girl’s death a homicide.

Her grandparents told FOX 4 their heart is breaking.

“My heart and my pain is probably the deepest I’ve ever felt,” said Alisa Clakley. “This little girl brought the most joy you can imagine.”

The Clakleys took care of Leilana until she was 2 years old. Then her mother took back custody after getting out of jail.

The couple last saw their granddaughter before Christmas. They still have presents for her that now will never be opened.

“What happened to our precious little girl?” her grandmother asked emotionally.

“I know the police are working very hard to try and figure out who did this and why. Even if they don’t find out the why, if they find the who… make sure there’s justice for her,” Craig Clakley said.

So far no one has been arrested.
