Crews working to fix North Texas potholes

As puddles in North Texas dry up, potholes are popping up in their place.

City and TxDOT crews admit there's a lot of catching up to do, but they're ready for the challenge.

The City of Dallas has at least eight crews working 12-hour shifts until Saturday in an attempt to fill the large holes in city roads.

TxDOT workers are back on their normal schedules, but they're still repairing state roads.

Crews in Dallas have been using cold mix asphalt, which is a temporary way of repairing holes in rough weather. With warmer weather ahead this week, hot mix asphalt will be used, and that will create more of a long-term fix.

TxDOT's call and road monitoring center is open 24/7 to take complaints about pothole problems.

In Dallas, drivers can report potholes by calling 311.
