Farmers Branch standoff ends in arrest

- Police in the suburb of Farmers Branch arrested a man after a five-hour standoff.

A woman called 911 Sunday afternoon, saying a man was holding her against her will in a commercial building at Belt Line Road and Marsh Lane.

Officers got the woman out quickly. They later found Javier Leal hiding in the attic.

“It’s been a little scary for the staff. Farmers Branch is doing an excellent job as they always do,” said Rodney Lamb, the owner of Pete’s Café.

Leal is now in the Farmers Branch jail charged with unlawful arrest.
