Good Samaritans help with North Texas road rescues

Good Samaritans were spotted helping push and pull stranded drivers to safety in North Texas on Thursday.

Daniel Murphy put his Jeep to work, helping just about anyone he came across along a stretch of Hwy. 360 and Abram Street in Arlington. He estimated that helped between 25 and 30 people there.

Nearby on I-20 and Bowen, members of the newly-formed Chisolm Trail Jeep Club helped nearly 40 stranded drivers. They even towed a Dallas County Sheriff's deputy out of an ice patch, and video shows the group towing a fully-loaded 18-wheeler uphill.

"The last gentleman we pulled out tried to give us money, and I said, ‘No, just pay it forward. Have a nice day,'" said Allan Peterson, who represents the group.
