SMU basketball at No. 22 in latest AP poll

SMU basketball dropped one spot in the Top 25 after a win and a loss in its last two games.

The Mustangs were ranked at No. 22 in this week's Associated Press poll, released Monday.

SMU split its two road games in the past week. The Mustangs beat Memphis 66-57 last Thursday, but lost 81-73 against the defending national champions UCONN on Sunday.

SMU is 23-6 overall and 14-3 in the American Athletic Conference.

SMU has one game left in the regular season: hosting first place Tulsa at Moody Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. The Mustangs are in second place in the AAC, but can earn a regular season conference title with a win in their final game.

The Mustangs are looking to make their first NCAA tournament since the 1992-93 season. Most NCAA prediction brackets have SMU in the tournament with a mid-range seed of 6 or 7.
