A man living in Tarrant County near Haslet shot his estranged wife and another man before turning the gun and killing himself Thursday morning.
The violent incident happened about 2:30 a.m. at a home in the 13200 block of Taylor Frances Lane. The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office said 53-year-old James Morris showed up at the house unannounced.
Morris shot and killed 24-year-old James Brantley. He critically injured 50-year-old Michelle Morris and then shot himself in the head. He dead at the hospital Thursday evening, and she died Friday morning.
“At this time the sheriff's office is not seeking any other suspects in this case,” said Sr. Chief Mike Simonds.
The sheriff's office said Morris and his wife were separated. She got a protective order against him in February after he assaulted Brantley. Investigators say Brantley was in a relationship with Michelle Morris and living in the house with her and her three teenage children.
The Morris' three children were home at the time but were not hurt. The two who are juveniles are now staying with relatives.
The neighborhood is in an unincorporated area of Tarrant County. The sheriff said over the last year they had made several calls to the house, including domestic disturbance calls.
