'Scouting for Food Drive' helping stock North Texas food pantries

The Boys Scouts of America is once again on a mission to help stock the shelves of dozens of North Texas food pantries.

The 31st annual "Scouting for Food Drive" is going throughout the month of February.

Thousands of scouts are collecting non-perishable food items across North Texas.

They have distributed plastic bags to different neighborhoods, and are asking that people fill them up by donating what they can.

They will then come back to pick them up.

Every year, they collect about 250,000 cans of food and distribute them to at least 45 food banks.
