Brisket Sliders

The secret is in the sauce for these brisket sliders from Sonny Bryan's.

Brisket Sliders with Special Sauce
Total prep and cook time: 50 minutes
Serves 10 to 12 people (easily doubles)

Sauce ingredients:
2 cups apple cider
2 garlic cloves (crushed)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp smoked paprika
4 tbs tomato puree
2 tbs white wine vinegar
¼ cup of brown sugar

Sauce Directions:
Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan, and mix well. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for around 40 minutes, or until the mixture has reached your desired consistency.
Leave to cool.

Caramelized Onion Ingredients:
1 yellow onion
1 tsp olive oil
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup water

Caramelized Onion Directions:
Coat the bottom of the pan with olive oil. Heat the pan on medium high heat until the oil is shimmering. Add the onion slices and stir to coat the onions with the oil. Sprinkle the salt. Spread the onions out evenly over the pan and simmer, stirring occasionally for 45 minutes. Add water as needed.

Additional Ingredients:
1 dozen rolls
1 lb. sliced brisket

Slider Directions:
Slice roll in half. Spread sauce on top and bottom half of roll. Add two pieces of sliced brisket and 4 to 5 caramelized onions per roll. Place top of roll to complete your slider sandwich and cut in half for appetizer size.
