Bourbon Glazed Pork Chop

Chase Carlson from Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen shares the recipe for a new pork chop dish that was just introduced on the menu.

Bourbon Glazed Pork Chop

4 pork chops
2 cups of prepared fried onions (such as French's)*
2 teaspoons of canola oil
1 clove of garlic, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
½ cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of your preferred bourbon
1 teaspoon of Tabasco Sauce
Salt
Pepper
* Fried onions can be swapped for freshly prepared onion rings if you prefer

Heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.

Season pork chops with salt and pepper. Oil sauté pan with 1 teaspoon of canola oil.

Place pork chops in the pan and cook until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.

While pork chops are cooking, warm remaining canola oil in a small sauce pot on medium heat. Add garlic and onions, and cook until softened.

Add beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar and bourbon to sauce pot, and mix to combine. Allow to reduce for approx. 5 minutes on medium heat, stirring frequently. Glaze consistency should resemble syrup.

Remove pork chops from pan and plate. Top each pork chop with glaze, followed by a generous portion of fried onions. Drizzle remaining glaze over fried onions for added flavor.

Serve alongside your favorite homemade sides, such as mashed potatoes.

Recipe serves four.
