A racers reunion banquet will celebrate the history of American auto racing in Irving on Saturday.
Three men, who are frequently identified as the all-time greatest midget car drivers will be honored. Mel Kenyon, Sleepy Tripp and “Bronco” Bill Schindler will be celebrated and recognized.
George Follmer is also a special guest at the banquet, who is considered one of the most versatile drivers in auto racing. He’s competed in the IndyCar series, Formula One, SCCA United States Road Racing, International Race of Champions, NASCAR, Trans-Am and Can-Am.
Three time Indy 500 winner and Grand Marshall of the event, Johnny Rutherford visited Good Day to tell Jenny Anchondo more about the event. Watch the attached video for more on the festivities.
