Dancing Classrooms North Texas teaches local kids more than just the Waltz

Dancing Classrooms North Texas stopped by the Good Day studio to showcase not just their dance moves, but all the social and physical skills they learned along the way.

The program originated 11 years ago in New York City and is now in almost 300 schools in North Texas.

According to the program's website, Dancing Classrooms uses a curriculum-based teaching approach to achieve social awareness and build self-esteem. Students are taught the vocabulary of various contemporary social dances in a classroom setting. Each class in the series introduces new steps, reinforcing what has been previously learned through practice and repetition.
