Cowboys help kick off Red Kettle campaign

The Dallas Cowboys hope to make it 10 wins in a row Thursday for their traditional Thanksgiving Day game. The team also hopes you’ll drop a few dollars into the pot again this year for the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign.

Owner Jerry Jones said over the past 20 years the team’s partnership with the Salvation Army has helped them raise more than $2 billion for local families who are less fortunate.

“This is my favorite time of the year for our team because we team up with the Salvation Army and it’s so beneficial. We feed 44,000 people, children her in the DFW area,” Jones said. “That dollar you put in that red kettle here in this area goes directly to Christmas for these kids.”

The Red Kettle Campaign officially kicks off during Thursday’s game against the Redskins at AT&T Stadium. You can watch the game on FOX 4 at 3:30 p.m.

Country star Eric Church will perform during the halftime show.
