Seahawks QB Russell Wilson works out with Texas Rangers

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) - Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is spending a day with the Texas Rangers and drawing on his Super Bowl experience to deliver a message to the team.

Wilson hit a home run in batting practice Saturday at the Rangers' spring training camp in suburban Phoenix. He played two seasons of minor league ball as an infielder with the Colorado Rockies before starring in the NFL.

Wilson took out the lineup card before Texas played San Diego, but wasn't scheduled to play in the game.

In his last game action in the Phoenix area, Wilson threw an interception at the goal line in the final seconds against New England, costing the Seahawks a chance to win their second straight Super Bowl.

Wilson said his message to the Rangers focused on what it takes to get back to that same opportunity.

Wilson also worked out with the Rangers last spring.
