Fixed-up Colby Lewis hip to pitch solidly for Texas Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Texas Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis chuckles at the suggestion that he is a medical marvel.

Lewis just feels good and is having positive results on the mound.

The right-hander had a procedure 21 months ago to remove bone spurs from his right hip. That happened while rehabbing from surgery in 2012 for a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow.

He also had Tommy John surgery 19 years ago while still in high school, and surgery on a torn rotator cuff in 2004.

Now 35 years old, Lewis has allowed only two runs over 21 innings his last three starts. He's is 3-2 through seven starts with a 2.40 ERA that is sixth among AL starters.
