Ewell's last 6 points lifts Brock to Class 3A boys' title

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Lance Ewell scored 14 points, including the last six points of the game, as Brock staged a pair of 7-0 first-half scoring runs then survived a furious Universal City Randolph rally to win the Class 3A boys' state title, 37-32.

The championship is the third for Brock, which was making its ninth state tournament appearance.

Randolph (31-4) took a 32-31 lead with 3:29 left to play on a jumper by Bryan London, who led the Ro-Hawks with 15 points and five rebounds.

Ewell answered at 3:05 with a basket for the final Brock lead, then added two free throws and another basket in the final three minutes for the victory.

Micah Thornton had seven points and ten rebounds for Brock (37-2), while Bailey Cockburn added seven points and nine boards.
