COPY-4 double-digit scorers push Houston Sterling to 4A final

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Curlgon Wesley scored 17 points with eight rebounds to lead Houston Sterling past La Marque 66-57 and title shot in the Class 4A boys' basketball final.

Sterling (31-5) will play Bridgeport in the Class 4A finals at 7 p.m. Saturday.

La Marque (28-10) led for only 14 seconds in the game as the Cougars weren't able to match the balanced Raider attack.

Wesley was one of four Sterling Raiders to score in double digits. Keldrick Thomas scored 15 points, while Avery Ragland had 13 points and nine rebounds and Joshua Young finished with 10 points for Sterling. Thomas had five straight points in the fourth quarter to clinch the win after La Marque had closed the margin to six points with 3:40 left.

La Marque's Jauron Freeman scored 22 points with six rebounds, while Tavier Blaine added 12 points and eight rebounds.
