SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Vivian Gray had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead Argyle to a 46-25 win over Abilene Wyllie for the Class 4A state championship.
Argyle (32-5) previously won the championship in 2006. Argyle lost to Waco LaVega in the Class 3A finals in 2014.
Gray, named championship game Most Valuable Player, scored six points in the first quarter then scored all six of the Argyle second quarter points as the Eagles took a 20-11 halftime lead by limiting Wylie to just three second quarter points.
Jesse Sheridan scored 13 points for Argyle while Delany Sain added seven points. Peyton Sanders led Wylie (32-6) with eight points and six rebounds while Brittany Brewer finished with six points and five rebounds.
