FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Fort Worth is throwing a party this summer for its birthday that will include 2,000-foot-long slip-n-slide in the North Texas city.

The city has announced its new birthday festival, PantherFest, will take place in June. Mayor Betsy Price says she can't think of a better way to commemorate Fort Worth's birthday than transforming Paddock Viaduct Bridge on North Main Street into a Slide the City water slide.

The festival also will include local craft beer, music and foods from Fort Worth-based restaurants.

Admission to the event will be free, but those wanting to ride the slide must purchase tickets. They will go on sale Feb. 20.
