ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Ron Washington says he regrets that he had to leave his job as manager of the Texas Rangers last season and hopes to manage in the majors again.
Washington is happy to be a coach with the Oakland Athletics, where he spent 11 seasons before switching to the Rangers and reaching the World Series twice in eight seasons.
Washington quit the Rangers in September and in his return Tuesday said he made the decision to save his marriage. He says Gerry, his wife of more than 40 years, is doing great and that he's in a good place.
Washington is working with Athletics infielders but can't be in the dugout during games.
